Soft City – Exhibition at Schloss Biesdorf, Berlin

For this show I collaborated with a great artist, my art sensei, and last but not least my husband, Yukihiro Taguchi. We have been all around the east neighborhood of Berlin, Marzahn-Hellersdorf, drawing and shooting a stop-motion animation video, watching the city through a glass window…got curious? NEONCHOCOLATE FESTIVAL

I have exciting news for Berlin friends, Cicca will be debuting at Neonchocolate Festival at Berliner Postbahnhof on this weekend, 23rd-24th July from 1pm till 11pm.

I am so excited and a bit nervous, as this is the first time I will be attending an art festival with my illustration work.

I will display my new works of painting on vintage ceramics and some art prints, postcards and two handmade coloring zines!

I have still some work to do, as hand-binding for the zines and painting some pottery, but it is almost done 🙂
Please come this weekend and say hi!

Bacio,

Chiara.

Flea Market at Mauerpark

Hallo!

Last Sunday was my first Sunday as seller at the flea market in Mauerpark and I loved it!

I went at 6 in the morning. It is very hard for me to wake up so early but it was worth it!

From my home in Lichtenberg I rode my bicycle, on the back one old suitcase that my boyfriend Yuki lent me (he used it also for selling his postcards and it’s perfect) and a small camping table.

The people were so nice, I really had a good time!

It was great for me also because it was the first time I showed my drawing to so many people and I was so excited to see the reactions! I look forward to going there again this Sunday.

Hoping I can get the same place close to the entrance e to those nice market mates!

Gambarimasu!

I’m back in Berlin to usual life and usual weather….it is cold! It seems like the winter is back, a crazy cold! I miss the spring that I left in Barcelona…

But it’s ok, that means I have to stay at home in my little studio, sit at my desk, working on all the projects that I want to finish this year.
“GAMBARIMASU!”
This magic japanese word means “I will do my best!”, I learned it from the thousands of anime that I watch always and of course from Yuki, my boyfriend.

So I will work hard this year to go a bit closer to my goals, and the bad weather can not stop me 😉
Just to remember that it is actually spring time, despite the Berlin cold, here a sketch that I did in Barcelona at Sant Jordi, while I was in La Rambla with my friends, selling books and bookmarks.
It represents the Princess of Sant Jordi’s legend. Although I thought it could be maybe a bit creepy, many children appreciated it and that made me so happy!
