Illustrated Diary: drawing without thinking
It happens always.
I take a brush and I draw whatever in the first sheet of paper I find close to me and …. TADAAN! Waoh, it’s really a nice one!
Then I try to draw it again and better, and the result? It is always worst.
That’s why the second time I want to create the perfect drawing, I try an excessive control on my hand, so that I’m scared to wrong and fail. And the final effect is artificial, not natural, bad.
What I need is to make free my drawing of the fear of not being able to make the perfect piece, I have to learn to make beautiful mistakes.
So I start an illustrated diary, full of daily sketches, doodles and scratches to feel free to draw, experiment and find a new way to put in the paper all the mess I have in my mind, but with no care.
Drawing without too much thought. That’s it.
Wild and Free! Vintage Hand Painted Dish
Hello hello!
It has been a while from last the time that I updated my Etsy shop. So today I uploaded this vintage dish, made in DDR, I painted it last year with a hippie-gipsy-woman illustration, with her delicate flowers crown.
What? You were just thinking about a bohemian touch for your kitchen? Then you definitely need this dish 😉

Fresh works online!
Hello hello!
Happy new year to everyone!
Back to Berlin after had spent a December escaping the cold winter, before in Hong Kong – I fell in love with this city in a way that I couldn’t never imagine – and then in my beloved homeland, Sicily.
But I couldn’t escape forever, so now it’s time to come back to the cold reality and, I have to say, I missed Berlin! So let’s start the 2017 with a lot of new exiting projects!
Have a look to my fresh uploaded works:
- These cute wedding bowls I did for three couple of friends.
- Watercolor sketches I painted in Barcellona, inspired by the autumn.
- And some fashion portraits for a friend who had a genial idea about a very chic salad bar.
And lot of new stuff is boiling in the pot. Stay tuned!
Children book work in progress
This project is lasting forever!
I should have finish it before the end of the year, but it seems impossible. This winter I’m traveling a lot, I was in Barcelona, then back to Sicily and all December I will be away as well, Hong Kong and Sicily again for Christmas holidays…
But the true is that I’m the queen of procrastination! You know what I mean, isn’t it? Especially now that the Berlin winter arrived, I feel like I need to go in hibernation.
While I was in Sicily I had the feeling I got used to the Berlin cold so, with 20 degrees there, it was still summer for me. Of course! But believe me, for a Sicilian 20 degrees are not summer at all. Winter is coming! It is getting cold! You’d better wear warmer clothes…Everybody told me this kind of stuff. Come on, seriously?! There are 20 degrees!!!
Am I becoming the girl from the “north continent”?…..naaaaaaa!
By the way, I don’t want to talk too much about this children book project I’m working at, not before it has completed, but here there is one of the paintings I did for it and that I rejected…are you trying to image the story?

Rainy summer and Illustrations on vintage ceramics
Hello hello! Happy Saturday and summer weekend to everybody!
The most of you is already in holiday, spending the time in the sun, on a beautiful beach, snorkeling in the sea…aaaaaaahhh!!! I would like to go to the sea too! But this summer I’m staying in Berlin because I have a bunch of work to do.
As some of you maybe already know, I am from Sicily and the month of August for me has meant just sea, beach, summer festival, camping under shooting stars…I am missing all this so much! And also I have to say that this year the summer in Berlin is not really nice, most of the time the sky is cloudy and the temperature makes me think about the end of October in Sicily more than middle of August…
But maybe is better like this, I mean, I have to work anyway so maybe it’s better that the cloudy sky and the fresh air delete every chance to go even to the nearest lake…so sad……….
So let’s try to do a happy twist in the cloudy Berlin’s summer, for example adding to the our lunch table this vintage GDR dish that I hand-painted with the illustration of colorful little girl in the summer rain with her yellow umbrella!
You can find it on my Etsy shop, together with my prints and some of other hand-painted ceramics items.
Garden sketching
If you could see how our little garden is growing! It’s so nice!
We were so lucky with the weather her in Køge, in 18 days it rained just once! Everybody told us it is unusual to have such a great sunny June in Denmark. Well, maybe I brought with me some Sicilian Sun 😉
I’m everyday inspired by this little plants.
Here one of the watercolor paints I did here.
Garden in Køge – Grow!
The work for our little garden in the square of KØS Museum continues.
I built with Yuki a little terrace and some plant pots using reclaimed wood, found in the street of the city. We were lucky to have a construction site very close to the museum, so that we could use lot of their waste materials; I was so surprise to see in the garbage container so much good wood thrown away.
We will stay here still 3 weeks, I hope to see some of our vegetable and flowers growing well before going away. We watch the earth every day and we are so happy when we see small leafs coming out.
I tell them “Grow!”, feeling like they can listen to me…
