CICCABOOM
Chiara Ciccarello, an alien artist based in Berlin
Chiara Ciccarello is the anarchic heart behind Ciccaboom — a queer, anti-fascist artist using color, pleasure, and softness as weapons against oppression.
Her work is a joyful act of disobedience: bodies that refuse shame, desire without apology, intimacy as political power. In a world obsessed with control, Ciccaboom paints freedom.
Born and raised in Catania, Sicily, now based in Berlin, Chiara blends Mediterranean heat with Berlin’s raw, rebellious energy.
After starting in architecture, Chiara chose painting instead, seeking more freedom and a clearer way to express resistance through art.
Rooted in hedonism, feminism, and queer liberation, her figurative work celebrates pleasure as resistance and joy as a radical liberation act. Each piece is an invitation to feel, to desire, to exist loudly.
Beyond painting, Chiara’s practice touches theatre scenography and animation, with work exhibited across Italy, Germany, Spain, and Japan. Whatever the medium, the mission stays the same:
resist oppressive systems, honor the body, and turn art into collective liberation.
